Agreat book that helps us know Neil Armstrong better!

Authors: Emma Blair and Sally Armstrong
Average review score:

Nellie Wildchild
This was the first EMMA BLAIR book I'd read, I couldn't put it down. I have read 6 more of her novels since this one.
She writes in the style of Catherine Cookson with more gutsy details.

At first you'll laugh being out with Nellie Thompson and her friend Babs at Saturday night dances.
Nellie falls for Frank, but he's a Catholic. Her father is furious; they want her to marry Jim.
After Frank is forced to leave town Nellie relents and marries Jim, what a mistake she's made!

Outback Mistress (Mills & Boon Large Print Romances)
Published in Hardcover by Harlequin Mills & Boon (June, 1999)
Author: Lindsay Armstrong
Average review score:

Love bears all things
Don't you just hate sappy romance novels? I sure do. In fact, I didn't want to like this one. I read this book because the only reading material my mother has to offer are romance novels and being bored, I picked this one up off of her bedside table and started to read.

Thanks, mom. I have just added Lindsay Armstrong to my list of favorite authors. I was captured by the author's wit and cast of characters from the very first paragraph. It was a peek at life in the "Outback" portion of Australia, which in itself is a refreshing perspective.

The hero and heroine are such real people, I'm sure I know them both personally. The relationship that develops between them is so believable, I threw down the book in dismay several times! The interplay between the female rancher and the millionare "playboy" type is vastly entertaining, although frustrating for the reader at times.

Lindsay Armstrong has a fabulous ablility to use words to completely overtake the reader's imagination. A few times I thought I was in Australia looking at the vista and had to brace myself for the trip back home!

I plan to add this author's work to my bookshelves quickly. I highly recommend "Outback Mistress" to all readers.

The Painted Page: Italian Renaissance Book Illumination 1450-1550
Published in Hardcover by Prestel USA (August, 1997)
Authors: Jonathan J.G. Alexander, Giordana Canova Mariani, and Lilian Armstrong
Average review score:

Exhibition catalog that inspires!
This book features plates and commentary regarding a exhibition of illuminated manuscripts from Italy that toured the US several years ago. Like most exhibition catalogs, it features essays about the general era as it pertains to the art, descriptions and histories of many of the items in the exhibit, and photographic reproductions of many of the best items in the exhibition. The editorial review pretty acurately describes the bare-bones contents, and so I won't repeat that worthy information here.

Italian illumination prior to about 1450 is, in my opinion, lackluster. The French, Flemish, and English were doing a much better job of painting books. However, the examples presented in this book prove just how beautiful Italian illumination could be once the Italians hit their stride. The paintings and illuminations featured in this catalog range from pretty to exquisite to sublimely beautiful.

This book has provided me with lots of inspiration in my own work as a modern-day book illuminator, and I highly recomend it to any other artist seeking inspriation in this genre.

a latest evolution
this book could be theoritically regarded as an evolution of reward system in HRM to develop the conception of Performance related pay to Pay for Contribution. It could make the reward system more fair, equitable, and legitimate. This is contemporary approach to appraise and rewward work labour in terms of its feasibility and acceptability.

Pierre's Dream

Authors: Jennifer Armstrong and Susan Gaber
Average review score:

A Marvelous "Dream"
Pierre is a lazy, good-for-nothing--but not in his dreams! In a dream, anything is possible, and he becomes a circus star. When he discovers he wasn't dreaming after all, he is left with a lot to think about, and so is the reader. Maybe all of us can do more than we think we can!

A delightful tale told with vivid musical language. The sensory details draw you in, making you feel a part of the story. The bold, colorful illustrations are a delight for the eye.
